As the year 2010 draws to a close, and the magnificent Zenyatta prepares to take her final bow at Hollywood Park, we cannot help but wonder: Who's next? What strong, swift, courageous horse will next light up the track (and our hearts)? The answer may reveal him(or her)self at the 2011 Kentucky Derby. Join me as we follow the horses who will run in the most storied race in America on the first Saturday in May. Some of them have been preparing for months. Some aren't yet sure they'll set hoof onto the Trail. Some are munching hay in their stall. But one of them will outrun the others in breathtaking fashion to don the mantle of roses in the Churchill Downs winner's circle. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to start the journey.
